Flower Power

???

This little one really wanted to create a flower so she set to at the craft table within her room to create…

She used her skills well to draw, cut, paint AND use tape to create her beautiful flower independently with great focus and attention to detail throughout.

Creative ways and determined days spent blossoming here at Jollies ♥️ xxxx

It’s that time of year again………

We are starting to say goodbye to our amazing school leavers and it’s such a bittersweet time, as we know they are ready for this next exciting step, but it’s a real wrench to let them go as we’ve shared so many memories together along the way…

We received this lovely goodbye message from a recent leaver and it has made us all feel really proud.

Thank you again for being part of our Jolly Family; we have all felt privileged to have been part of your lives over the years ♥️ xxxx

“Well, what can I say. It’s the end of a fantastic era for both ***** and ***** I can honestly say without a doubt the best decision we made was sending our girls to Jollies. From day one the girls have loved every minute. Thank you so much for setting the foundations for them and more! We will deffo call in and say hello soon, plus I managed to hold the tears in until we got to the car and read all the lovely words you’d written ?? Thanks again ❤️?? the **********! Xxx”

A peaceful moment….

♥️?

After a VERY busy morning this little one took herself over to the book area and laid herself down to look through a book…

Moments of calm and relaxation are just as important as very active learning experiences and we love that our children are soooooo at ease in our home-from-home environment that they can find themselves the time they need to find calm and rest whenever they want/need to.

Active days mixed with restorative restful ways… it’s just the perfect Jolly well-being combination ♥️ xxxx

An unusual perspective!!

Creating awe and wonder as the clouds moving, the birds flying, the leaves swaying in the sky above and many, many other interesting things were explored by looking down in the mirror below!!

Simply fascinating to see the world from this perspective… and the added bonus?! … It was when our little ones noticed their own reflections too; as they were then, of course, able to admire their own gorgeous selves as well!!!!! ♥️?xxxx

The shiniest of all the treasure…

???

This was the invitation to play waiting for Cheeky Monkeys recently within their room…

Their curiosity was definitely sparked, their interest was piqued and their explorations began!!

The next minute imaginations were sparkling brighter than the treasures being investigated.

At Jollies we like to ignite the spark and then watch the fires of learning burn brightly as our children take their learning off in their individually chosen, very exciting, very different, directions…?? xxxx

Our lovely canal

♥️?

Yet again this beautiful location, situated right on our nursery’s doorstep, provided adventure and amazingness.

Our little Possums loved to feed the ducks, say hello (and pose!) with the Gruffalo, munch some snack, look at the boats and dogs and people and take in everything else they could see around them as they strolled and listened and looked… Oh, and they had a run around on the green as they played the best game of football there ever too⚽️

Canal walking days meets footballing ways… a perfect Jolly morning! Xxxx

Our Jolly Secret Mission

We love a secret mission and whilst outside Free-Flow have been excellent explorers and they’ve been on a few!!

This Jolly team had to find the hidden ladybirds, save the princesses, do a hoola and they even had to race to the aeroplane… Oh….and then they had to spot the giant giraffe inside too. It was so much fun………………………………MISSION COMPLETE!!Xxxx

You are my sunshine

☀️

Inspired by the glorious weather that we’d been having at the time (and also linked to her children’s current fascination with all things space themed!) Laura set up a creative learning opportunity whereby her children could develop their fine motor skills to create their very own sunshine masterpiece.

This activity was messy, but yet not messy!! It particularly appealed to those children who do not relish the feel of paint upon their hands and who do not really like to get messy!

Instead of the more traditional way of painting the children’s hands were above the paint on cling film; yet they were still able to mix and move the paint around.

They could use their imagination to explore differing ways to spread the paint around. They found squeezing, splatting, tapping, pushing and pinching the cling film were just some of the many ways to do this!

Masterpieces emerged… yet hands remained remarkably clean… magic!! ☀️ xxxx

Meeting in the middle!!

Fiona, as a closely observing practitioner on hand to offer support and assistance as required, wondered how this was going to play out as both girls went up the log steps… they got to the top, said ‘Hi!’ and went back down again!

Physical skill testing days and wonderful friendship ways spent playing here at Jollies ♥️ xxxx

A Pirate Mission

?‍☠️ This morning this little one came into nursery asking to make a pirate ship again after having previously built one with Emma several weeks ago…

This time he had a few specifications, which meant Lauren and Kirstan had to get to work right away creating a fireable canon, a flag and ensuring that a plank and steering wheel were added.. no pressure right?!

Well the room achieved it by working together and they even added in some dressing up too to further aid and extend the imaginative play!

To say he was made up didn’t really begin to describe his sheer excitement and he certainly had his shipmates in ‘ship shape’ and everyone loved joining in the fun that he had inspired.

It makes Sian and I soooooo very proud when our Jolly practitioners just ‘get’ their children so completely and we can see that they would literally do anything they could to make their children’s wishes come true.

Inspiring play in the VERY best way… it’s just another day here at Jollies ♥️ xxxx
