Double dabs!

Sometimes in life one paintbrush just isn’t enough!!! ????????️????????????????????????

We love to express ourselves and set our creativity free here at Jollies… ♥️ xxxx

Shake, rattle and roll to reveal….

❓❓❓

Sian brought Free-Flow in a new game for them to play and they were all extremely curious…

They had to shake the tubes and see what they could find. There were lots of very different objects hiding inside the tube under the plastic sprinkles and they shook and then looked ???? to see what they could see…

Their favourites that were revealed seemed to definitely be the dinosaurs and the ladybird!! ????????????

Once they had got used to observing closely we added a further element of challenge and to make it a little harder they then took it in turns to pick some of the description cards to try and then find certain objects.

Sometimes they managed it and other times the objects were a little too elusive!!

The challenge cards were fun, but many friends just finding the different things, and seeing what they could see, was much more fun!

A Tiger at Jollies?!?!?!

????????????????????????????

Before the car wash last week though a tiger came to tea…. (…..well…..for some snack actually!! ????????????????????)

So, as is normal for a fun-filled Friday in Free-Flow, a little comment soon escalated into tea (or we should perhaps say snack…) with a tiger!!!!

Emma accidentally set too many places out at the table at breakfast time, so the children who were already in were guessing who might come in next to sit there…..which of their friends would it be?!?! After Emma listed a few possible friends’ names, but then there was a shout of, ‘No…a tiger!!’.

So in the next moment they were all chatting about an alternative to the much-loved story…..at Jollies it would now be the tiger who came to breakfast!!!!

This quickly developed into our children inviting the tiger to join them for snack later!!They wrote him an invitation and hoped that he would come….……and he did!!!! Our children excitedly looked at pictures from the story, chatted about what the tiger might like to eat and helped themselves (and the tiger!) to the fruit platters and teapot full of juice! ♥️ xxxx

Following our children’s interests on a HUGE scale!!

????????????????????????

After the addition of the garage into Free-Flow last Monday our children have been obsessed with cars all week and, as well as carrying out services, checks and repairs, they have been using the sponges and buckets inside to pretend to wash their bubble and crate cars.

So following on from their current interests on Friday afternoon last week Emma surprised them all with………a car wash outside…… with her big red car!! ????

They were beside themselves with excitement and it’s fair to say they had an AMAZING time working at their very own car wash!

The teamwork was sublime and the car certainly did shine!!!!!! ✨✨✨✨✨ xxxx

Our littlest giraffes love to read…

????????

We said we were obsessed with reading here at Jollies and in the next moment this little one was spotted making herself very at home in the story sharing corner surrounded by her giraffey friends telling them all an AWESOME story…. The book of choice was even giraffe themed, although it was ‘Dear Zoo’ up next, but the giraffes seemed to enjoy this story very much too!!

Reading ways and the happiest of days spent together here at Jollies ♥️ Xxxx

Moooooove on over and share a story together…

That’s the invitation for our Terrific Twos children from their two new cow friends waiting in their story sharing nook, or should we perhaps say meadow?! ????????????????????

We love to read here at Jollies… you could even say we are OBSESSED, so there’s nothing better than sitting on a cow stool or a flower cushion and sharing stories with our friends… ♥️???? xxxx

Show and Tell….

There’s nothing like bringing something that’s special to you in to nursery to show all your friends and then telling them the story behind it and why you love it so much!!

Our children are enjoying bringing an item of their choosing in once a month to share with everyone and it’s a great opportunity to build their communication skills as they talk with confidence, and increasing detail and fluency, and also learn to listen carefully to their friends too when they have their turn.

Such a simple activity, but one that our children look forward to as they choose their special item to bring in from home, they take it in turns and they build up their conversational skills into the bargain too!!

We wonder what they will choose to bring in to share next time and we certainly look forward to hearing all about it……. ♥️xxxx

Junk-Modelling!!

From creating ‘robots’ to ‘daddies’ we’ve quite simply had it all going on this morning… the creativity, innovation and problem-solving skills are certainly flowing here at Jollies ♥️xxxx

Mechanics at the ready

????????????????????????⚙️????

A new and exciting role-play awaits Free-Flow this week as they book cars into our new Jolly Garage to be assessed and mended.

Tyres will be changed and pumped, oil will be tested and topped up, engines will be tuned, bodywork will be washed, petrol and diesel will be filled.

Lots of opportunities for role-playing as telephone calls will be answered and cars are booked in for services, mark-making opportunities will be plentiful as vehicle check sheets are filled in and reports are written.

Hopefully lots of cars will be whizzing out and happy customers will be leaving the garage to continue on their travels…. ♥️ Xxxx

New Hotel Opens In Woodlesford!!!!!

Recently we were invited by ‘Woodlesford In Bloom’ to take part in helping to make the new Woodlesford Bug Hotel on the grassed area over the road from Jollies. How exciting was this?! We ♥️ being part of such a wonderful local community…

We loved to listen to ‘Woodlesford In Bloom’ talking about how we were going to contribute and we then followed their instructions to use various materials; such as conkers, leaves, sticks, pinecones and toilet roll tubes, to create a super luxurious environment for future bug guests.

We liked talking about which bugs may come and visit and we all took it in turns to place the different materials into the Bug Hotel!

Lots of fun exploring the natural world around us was had and we can’t wait to observe the first guests checking in soon… We’ll be keeping a very close eye upon future visitors and we’ll see which creatures we can spot and then find out more about them as we always love to find out more, more, more, more, more here at Jollies!! ????????????????????????♥️ xxxx
